Re: Can we embarrass ourselves...?
Which is why I'm a little stunned at official interference. Other far more inflammatory discussions have received no such intervention. This was (on my part) a little banter amongst friends. My mistake.

Re: Can we embarrass ourselves...?
It wasn't aimed at you Green Aura. We have a newbie on the thread who i felt was getting more than a gentle ribbing.
Stating that people wish negative things to happen is against the norms of Ishness and therefore i felt it was inappropriate.
I wasn't 'getting involved' just giving a gentle reminder.

Re: Can we embarrass ourselves...?
I'm assuming that I am the newbie who is being referred to - just for the record, I am not offended!
I'm with Green Aura - I don't have any music that I am embarrassed to admit to listening to (even the one track of Westlife that I have!) - if I thought it was that embarrassing, I wouldn't listen to it. I saw something in the Observer at the weekend in a similar vein - people listing the books they read but were too embarrassed to read in public. Surely, if you think it is that embarrassing, you shouldn't read it? If it appeals to you, no matter how naff, then read it anyway - who cares what others think? Pretending to be something you're not (or pretending not to be something you are) is a bit sad really.
Anyway slightly off subject. I was listening to my ipod last night and the infamous track came on - made me laugh when I thought of the teasing I was getting for owning up to it!

Shall I shave my head now ready for a home lobotomy??

I was listening to Showaddywaddy and Bay City Rollers the other day - my first single was David Soul's Silver Lady. Cringeworthy? Maybe, but do I care? Not a jot.
I like Tatu too :-)

I'm giggling, but at least I've heard of Showaddywaddy and the Bay City Rollers. I used to dress up in tartan!

One of the guys from Showaddywaddy lives near me and my mum took over the headship of the local school from his dad - and I have his copy of Just So Stories! But I don't own an iPod!
