Hello from Reading.

Post: # 165387Post Gem »

I have been foraging, allotmenting and doing various things with jams and preserves for a while and thought it might be nice to chatter to like-minding people and maybe get some handy hints.

Only had the allotment for a year but been growing veg and herbs out of planters and teeny bits of mud with varying levels of success for a while longer. Am currently getting over the excitment of my butternuts and aubergines going great guns this year!

I also have a mound of courgettes so if anyone has any storage, recipie, etc hints then please let me know otherwise it will all have to go to the pub in exchange for a pint or two of scrumpy (I have limited freezer storage).

Cheers

Gem

Hello Helen, nice to see there is another Reading bod on here!

Do you have an allotment around the area?
I have one in Early which unfortunately is one of those chopped in half ones the council starting doing to try and stop people leaving space to go to waste.. I am a little space limited as a result but its kind of fun to see how much I can cram in!

I have a plot at the Bulmershe site, mine is a half plot as well but I struggle just with that!
