Hi I'm Marg from Yate

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hi I'm Marg from Yate

Post: # 168446Post theothermarg »

I'm a long way off from being self sufficient but I have a allotment and try to harvest something throughout the year, this time of year it's easy so I havn't had to buy veg for a few months  I'm also a long way off from being green but am quite a good recycler and go out of my way as a cleaner to sort and recycle the things that get thrown out. I'm in my 60's and grew up on a council estate in Fishponds, in those days it was a way of life pig waste and papers were collected and bottles and jars were took back for pennies which was extra sweet money.

enough of the past, I'm looking forward to learning new ways to save money and save waste

Hi Marg and welcome.

I grew up not far from you, in Thornbury.

There certainly is alway something new to be learnt here. Enjoy.

Welcome to ISH :flower:

I know your part of the world very well. My late uncle was one of the architechs that designed the big 60's estate at Yate. His fee was one of the houses. I think all architechs should be made to live in the houses they design!

Hi and Wlecome Marge - I love your cat!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
