Isn't the clue in it being written for Wired?

It is interesting to get such a strong reaction from such crap writing. I will think twice before putting a link up to part two then.

Comfrey - Not my mistake there that was Positive TV's spelling mistake. I noticed that too and was a little disappointed, but I guess it shows how little people know about plants. They have done a good job otherwise.

Zoe - Glad you like the Wired article and glad you got it.

Ok so I was annoyed at first at my piece being called "crap", I understand that it may have caused offence. In my defence and MKG is 100% correct in his observation; any advice that gave was advice given by the US military.

Sorry if it did cause some offence that was not my intention. Yes it was a departure from my usual stuff and my sense of humour can be a very dry and very dark. Often only a handful of people will get me and instead take personal offence. This was not at all my intention.

So Healer and anyone else who took offence take this as my apology, although I do also think that at least I was not personal with my attack and an apology is perhaps due from your side too. I hope that statement is human and not too controversial.

Well done, Andy - it takes a big person to go public in admitting a possible error. For what it's worth, I think the world, complete with all its faults and foibles, wouldn't be worth living in if we couldn't at least make an attempt to laugh at it.

WELLLL for my t'peneth worth I enjoyed the natural first aid kit bit as that is useful especially post TEOTWAWKI !!

As for the survive a terrorist strike then so what if it was a joke. I didn't think of it as a joke more of a piece that was under researched and that could play on stereotypical phobias with the ideas of sweaty twitchy people... You could have included "of aisian colour " or pc version " non anglo saxon colouration " and maybe you could have included a reference to that old kitchen cloth... you know the one that you make chees in.... ah yes the muslin cloth.

Of course you should stay away from Basra etc and the other large building / areas of mass congegation like railway stations [if you are concerned about terrorism], it's only common sense but then how many intelligent people have common sense?

If you do have a preperation plan in place then there is no need to get wound up about it. I've been slagged off on here before for survival issues but it could be a prudent time to review your escape and survive stratergies.

How about looking at your fire escape plan for your house ? You do have a FEP don't you, even different ones for night and day etc

Illness survival plan, If you are ill and can't get to the shops what will you do?

then of course there is the Travel fire plan. If you are in a hotel do you take any room on any floor that they give you or do you book a room on the 4th floor or lower ?

Then there are the biggies such as TEOTWAWKI, TSHHTF and the best, mother of all plans MZB@D !!

.... Oh and this is not a wind up.......

Cheers!

Normally you can edit your own posts but is the Edit button missing? Sometimes things go a bit strange from time to time!

I can edit it though so where do you want me to insert the bit about 'the second bit about the escape plans was not a wind up'?

Or perhaps TSHAHTF (I inserted the word Already).

The edit button has dissapeared on my screen. I thought it was just me... My correction was aimed at those on here who thought I was being racist or anti muslim with the reference to the kitchen cloth etc but seeing as it's all gone awire just leave it as original and i'll add on the proviso here that I was attempting a joke....... but then seeing as Andy got boll^&*7 for making apoor joke I may as well get told off by the PC brigade...

The bit about the escape plans was the bit that was not a joke.....

Thanks for the explanations, Big Al. Personally, I'm more into smaller emergency plans ...

IITMOTTAADTGTTL - I'm in the middle of the town and am desperate to go to the loo.

TTLOTE - that's the last of the elderberry.

SD-SHDTLOTE - Sorry, Darling - shouldn't have drunk the last of the elderberry.

Quickly followed by ... TDUHTM - this doesn't usually happen to me.
