Wasn't it just!
Loved the trick with the Lavender plant.
Bury it up to its neck and leave it a couple of months.

End result... lots of new plants.

I missed half of it.. but saw the lavender thing... now I've read that recently on one of the forums... thought it was this one... but yes.. brilliant indeed.

I rescued some 'old' plants from the garden centre yesterday, but have to say that they were only half price and not dirt cheap... still, I will be splitting them and making more.

We should definitely share our tips for this sort of thing!!

its nice to see gardeners world changing from the frumpy green welly brigade to some useful information we can all use . i think gardeners world should be split 50-50 time wise .flowers veg in the growing season.

Not only the Holiday Prog., Gunners, but all those ones about buying/renovating/building a house. I'd really like to see Phil and Kirstie come to grips with low income people who whould struggle to raise thirty grand, let alone half a mill.

The guy who gave the lavender tip along with the way to propagate multi cuttings for penstimons is Malcolm Hockham of Eggleston Hall nursery near me in County Durham.

He's a nice bloke always willing to give tips (a bit of a nutter).

The nursery is well worth a visit for a day out, its based in the old walled kitchen garden of the Hall, in Teesdale.

They're famous for discovering this silver spicky plant that has a large daisy like flower, we bought one once and even though it's ment to be vertually indestructable we killed it!. When we bought it Malcolm asked us if we liked it??, cos he can't stand them!. Bearing in mind the place is absolutely stuffed with the bloody things.
