Too many rooms on this forum?

Post: # 184042Post southeast-isher »

Okay so this is a great forum full of great people doing great things but is it me or is there too many rooms on this forum? I post on a music forum where the main bulk of talk goes in just one room - other rooms are just for events and things. I must admit it seems to flow a lot better. Everything here seems to be compartmentalised to a great extend - maybe it is a good thing but i just can't seem to get the hang of it. Anyway all big yourself up and take care!

I must admit I prefer it this way. I like being able to just click on the General chat heading to see what everyone is up to, and then go to the other headings I currently have interests in. There are some areas I rarely look in but know they are there. All this suits me fine. But I suppose everyone will have different views?

Have you tried using the "view active topics" button - top left of screen. Everything is there in one place, which might seem more familiar to you.

The different rooms are useful because a lot of folks start off more interested in one area than another, but I think that most of us eventually use the view active topics so we can see what's going on all over the shop.

Never heard of the sections being called rooms before! We do have to have things separated (just like every other forum I'm aware of) because we can't just lump everything together as nobody would ever be able to find anything again.

It would be daft to mix cooking up with general chat and veg with book reviews etc.

As it is we are always trying not to open up too many more new sections, despite our members requesting them!

yes, that's how I use the forum, but if i am looking for an old topic - it is handy that it is likely to be in one section
