You gotta love Margo...
...have been watching 'The Good Life' alot recenty as it is on BT Vision at the moment.
Classic line last night - when Tom is collecting scraps for the pigs:
Tom: 'Surely it is better fed to my livestock than just being thrown away?'
Margo: 'Tom, I have much better things to do with my rubbish than just throw it away, thank you. I have a waste disposal unit'
Classic!

Whilst I was frogging a jumper at xmastime, the MIL came out with 'How is THAT recycling? You've not put it in the blue bin!'

Sorry!! 'Frogging'.... unravelling a knitted garment to make something else with the wool.... the noise of the wool being unravelled is supposed to sound like 'ribbit, ribbit'....marshlander wrote: please explain frogging

The lad came round at work selling the eggs from our farm and the librarian asked for a dozen eggs. With a completely straight face the lad asked if she wanted hen's eggs or rooster eggs. "I don't know" she relied "what ever you normally get in T***o's!!!!!!!!

Thanks Fran - that made us all giggle this morning.
And thank you for the 'frogging' word - I never knew it was called that.

Re: You gotta love Margo...
It looks dated now but, like Yes (Prime) Minister, the humour is timeless. My favourite episode has to be the very first one where Tom is trying to discover what 'it' is that he wants to achieve and he then goes through what he wants from his life, what matters and how to go about it. Ever been there ? I know I have !
I used to think Felicity Kendall was absolutely gorgeous until I read her auto-biography White Cargo where I thought she came across as cold and hard - shame, really

I thought she was gorgeous until I saw her many years later with a bad face lift. Why do they bother - she'd still be beautiful if she hadn't had it. Look at Joanna Lumley, OK she is showing her age but still really stunning.

Re: You gotta love Margo...
I dont think Good life looks dated its sort of not all shiney... and thinking back it never was all shiney ... just great fun and inspireing ... my fave was when Margo went out to help pull veggies before they got washed away in her yellow rain gear and fell on her ass ... what a howler ...
I never new it was called frogging ... it a past time I quite like
Grow old disgracefully is my agenda ... think I am quite good at it ... when the first saggy bits appeared I though well at my age you expect it and I had two kids and laughed a lot to get those lines ... no face lift isn't for me... anyway I would rather spend my money on gin
