Hello from Mississippi in the United States

Post: # 195221Post lisaanne »

Hello Everyone,
I am new to hunting for edible wild plants. I have bought a few books on the subject and am learning. I am happy that I finally found a place where I can interact with others that are not new to foraging. It is my goal to learn from your wisdom and knowledge. I am a vegetarian and I live in Mississippi in the United States with my 9 year old son and my husband. We are in an extremely rural area. I have lots of woods and trails where I can hunt for wild plants, but I have trouble identifying some of them. Anyway, glad to be here with you!

Morning! and welcome to ish.
Is there, perhaps, some kind of book or forum where you could investigate locally available foraged food?
In my experience there are stacks more than you`d imagine - but experimenting can be a bit dodgy!
