Planting Horseradish

The larger horseradish was planted in 2009, and left for digging this year. The other two in the containers were a portion of root buried in the ground to over Winter. Usually I treat horseradish as an annual.

A square foot board is placed in the bottom of the planting hole to make digging easier in the late Fall. This tends to make the roots easier to dig without breaking.
