Hello from me in New Zealand

Post: # 200006Post Ratsny »

Tena koutou,
I'm on a major almost consuming mission to find out how to do things without the luxury of cheap oil. Having just recently found out about Peak Oil I understand I'm a bit obsessed at the moment - hopefully I will start balancing out all the information I'm finding with positive action!
At the moment I have made a commitment to do my utmost not to buy anything plastic and to buy locally. We grow most of our vegetables and this coming Spring we plan to keep chickens for eggs and meat. I have started making my own sourdough bread and have a big list of new things to try and grow.
I am also considering trying to start a Transition Town initiative in my (rather conservative) country town - pretty daunting! Still, it's better to try than not.
I'm looking forward to sharing in all the wonderful knowledge you self sufficient-ish people out there have!
Kia Ora

Welcome fellow New Zealander

Where abouts is your small country town located are you north or south, it helps if offer advice to know what sort of climate you have. Besides if your close enough we can always arange meet and greets :thumbright:
Our remote ancestors said to their mother Earth, "We are yours."
Modern humanity has said to Nature, "You are mine."
The Green Man has returned as the living face of the whole earth so that through his mouth we may say to the universe, "We are one."
