A few months ago I helped out with the catering at a pottery weekend. In exchange I'm due a day's pottery lesson. I haven't had time to go yet but I'm really looking forward to it.

Have fun, I'm sure you'll be great. I can't wait to see your first creations.

Don't blame you for being excited OTM, I would be too. It's one of those things I've always fancied having a go at and maybe I'll get up the courage to attend a course one day - enjoy!

That's fantastic,
Pottery is one of the things on offer in the LD Artist's studio that I work in. (I'm not a potter mind you!) Half the stuff I make is terrible, but I can at least help the artists to produce fairly decent pieces! But it is great fun, I always think that I should put myself forward more when someone wants to work with clay - but I always leave it to the potters as it takes soooo much less time to tidy up afterwards....

Have Fun
You'll love it.

Oooooh good luck Russ and hope you have lots of fun. I can still remember every piece I brought home for mum from school - absolutely hideous each and every one of them but poor woman proudly displayed them for years and years and then..... gave them back to me!!!   I think I have managed to lose them now after several house moves ha ha!

From your photo and posts, I thought you'd been pottering about for years.

Excellent! Well done you for goig out and doing it. And the results will be brilliant.

I'm very lucky. MrLovelyHorse is a potter. So I have all this pottery equipment here, and a lovely patient man to show me techniques and help when I get stuck. Unfortunately, at the moment I don't get time to enjoy this to the full, but once we've moved to France and I've reduced the number of hours I work (at the moment I'm working like a slave to earn pennies to fund the move!), I'm looking forward to spending happy hours pottering around with clay and glazes.

Enjoy!
