Gratuitous Gushing about River Cottage Everday, Thurs 8pm c4

Do you think The Good Life could be remade, with me or Dave playing Tom Good (maybe not!)? If you have seen something on TV or heard something on the radio recently that you want to talk about, tell us here.

Or you could just go out at low tide with a hooked stick and poke around under the rocks!

I tried to watch Nigella last night but after the 1st 2mins she'd pi**ed me off enough to turn over!

Hands up all those who think we should bombard the Beeb with emails suggesting Andy as a new celeb chef? He'd be much more interesting!

MMM - I have been there with beetroot. You have to cut it into really small chunks - like the size of an oxo cube (if you haven't been keeping those bones and making your own stock, of course  ) or a satsuma segment. Then roast for about 40 mins - then it is perfect and sweet.

But we have had several bad trials to get to this stage, it is not nice eating beetroot which is as hard as granite.

I know what you mean. No woman I know has natural hair that thick and lustureous(sp?)!!!

Plus she was wearing a backless dress the other day, and she had a hairy back - like a warewolf!!

(OK, I might have made that bit up)

I watch Nigella purely to lust over her and salivate over the food, I rarely pick up any recipes from her.

Have to agree with Sinmara - La Nigella is definitely lustworthy. I CAN tell you, though, that her recipes don't necessarily work (I've tried a few). But I don't care - she can slink across my screen any time she likes.

PS - Don't tell the OH I said that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually it was fine - we ate it cold last night and it was fabulous. What I need to do is put the garlic and onion in with it a bit later and then it will be perfect, and not put quick cooking things like tomato and pumpkin in the oven at the same time. You live and learn!

.......and I love your comment about nigella's hairy back!

I had to try the beetroot houmous recipe he did on tonight's show - oh my word. This is SO going to be made regularly now by me. However I reduced the amount of oil and walnuts a lot, and put more water into it.
