Resolutions
Hi all, has anyone made any New year resolutions? Every year I make the same one - try and be a better neighbour! every year it lasts about a fortnight! Today I have taken her round a big pile of magazines and was feeling quite good about that, until my daughter pointed out that I was just getting rid of something I didn't want! pbf.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Re: Resolutions
I love making new years' resolutions.
My main one is to WRITE A NOVEL.
The others are:
1. Cook a new curry every month from my new cookbook.
2. Keep a diary of every day.
3. Take more photos, print them and put in an album once a month.
4. Make more of an effort to go out and do things (especially walking) at the weekend.
5. Be a better friend and see family more often.
There are the other two but I am not making them new years resolutions as they are more of a longer term thing: loose weight and pay off credit cards...impossible to start either in the dark miserable month of January.
Good luck everyone with sticking to yours!

Re: Resolutions
Only two this year:
- Gain a new skill each month (January's is soap making and I've just made the first batch, which looks OK);
- Invest a little time and money in a proper, less wasteful, irrigation system for our little plot.

Re: Resolutions
Having spent the last three years as Commodore of a sailing club, I am now free and have my life back so resolutions are ......
1) Spend more time doing what I enjoy ie working on the barge, allotment, cooking, reading, sailing etc.
2) Spend more time with family and friends
3) Go back through old posts on this forum and learn a lot more about being self-sufficientish!
Happy New Year Everyone xxx

Re: Resolutions
I have a huge list of things to do in the house, round the garden, it really is massive.
My new year's resolution is to cross more things off the list than I add.

1 Sign up for organ donation - My son has just turned 16 and he wants to do this too so we'll do it together
2 Finish my kitchen - we'll it's only taken about 3 years!
3 Do better with the garden
4 Lose some weight
I'm sure there must be more but I think that's enough to be going on with!
Happy New Year to all and I hope all your dreams come true!

And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free

Re: Resolutions
@ Big Al - Obviously a man who knows how long his resolve would last in the same situation.
The year has already made it's resolutions for me which is how life works isn't it? You find yourself in a situation and have to go with the flow.

Re: Resolutions
My resolution for this year....
Is to (finally) tell Big Al to change his blummin' signature!!
Big Al..... I love you loads, Happy New Year by the way, but every time I see your sig, I keep thinking, 'I must tell him to change that'......
Your backwards one reads : yretsymaefildinfsuoirucehtylno OR only the curious fnid life a mystery.
And yes, it's one of things that wrinkles my brow.....
Gosh, sad ain't I?
OK, Resolution done!! Now, that was easy this year

Re: Resolutions
I'm loving the Riff-raff elements learn a new skill resolution so I might pinch that one!
I'm also liking Bonnie's cook a new curry a month (and then post the recipe on here if it's good? )
I'm going with;
Learn to drive (not very ish - but I am nearly 30 so it's about time!)
Try try try to leave the job I'm in by the end of the year and get another less stressful more enjoyable one.
See my family more
Buy a polytunnel or greenhouse
