I moved my tomato plants that I have reared from seed into larger (ex-florist) pots.
Went back next evening and lots of small white flies take off when the plants are disturbed.
There was no sign of these flies when I potted them on, and they have been reared in the same place (greenhouse).

There's only one thing wrong with school.
It gets in the way of children's education ;-)
Definitely whitefly which is a real nuisance in the greenhouse. It's impossible to eradicate them even with chemicals but should be a bit better once you move your tomatoes outside.
Although not mentioned for whitefly, Bob Flowerdew said on Gardeners Question Time (latest programme available to listen again on the bbc radio 4 website) something about using cardboard covered in honey to trap flea beetles? Perhaps you could wave a cardboard around when you disturb the whitefly in hope of catching some?
When you plant 'em out try planting tagetes marigolds or nasturtiams as a companion plant to attract them away or garlic, thyme, oregano as a repellent. Or soap spray may also repell 'em or kill the little buggers with a pyrethrum spray.
