What are we all having for dinner?

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Now now. The key is using tofu as a carrier for flavours; it's mashed then marinated in whatever-you're-having-yourself.

A rare treat. We do, nowadays, try to avoid soya in all its forms as much as possible. Not easy. It's added to so many foods these days as it extends shelf life and it's a cheap filler. :angryfire:

Not much wrong with using European-grown organic soya beans though.

Herself pulled a red cabbage and cooked it with onions, garlic, red wine and butter beans...with organic wholemeal fair trade couscous shipped from Palestine...and home-made tomato bread.

Tonight as it's an amalgamation of St Valentine's day and the umpteenth anniversary of when we first met, I'm making seafood ravioli with a light prawn cream sauce and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.

Plus it get rid of three eggs in the pasta, and we are a wee bit overwhelmed with eggs at the mo.

We had Epic Quesadilla Fail for tea. It's like a normal quesadilla except you put too much filling in and it all falls apart when you try to remove it from the pan. Still tasty though! :thumbright:

Had to read that twice thinking it was something foreign and glamourous!

We had bacon, beans, fried duck egg and fried bread and toast. mmmmmmmmmmmm, can't beat a bit of health food occasionally. :thumbright:

We had aloo gobi, dal and brown rice, washed down with a glass of Ish Ale.

For breakfast we are mostly having aloo gobi, dal and rice - fried up and served on toast! Washed down with mugs of coffee.

You need to get the accompanying drinks just right :thumbright:

I would rather have had my dinner last night for brekkie than yours!

Though I don't actually have a problem with eating cold curry out of the saucepan the next morning with a spoon.

Yours sounded just fine MMM, apart from fried bread - never could stomach it for some reason.

Having watched Jamie chuck pasta and stuff in a saucepan I was inspired, off I went to the fridge and found leeks, red peppers, sundried toms, mushrooms, cooked up some pasta threw it all in a frying pan with pesto added a bit of feta and lemon juice and my fussy little darlings ate the lot, then wanted seconds. Told them it was called pasta primavera, I find if I give it a proper sounding name they are happy to eat most things. Pud was choc cheesecake cupcakes with raspberry yoghurt. Nom nom nom!

mmmmm rice pud, haven't had that for a while. It's a good way to use up my jam - I haven't even started on last year's strawberry jam yet!!!

I did a chicken, cashew nut and brocolli thai style stir fry which was yummy. I think cashew nuts are just the bees knees in stir fries and we use much less meat (or often, none at all) as they are very filling. :thumbright:

I need some inspiration - having woken up at 3.45 and not been back to sleep since I'm not in an ideas frame of mind!

Well Maggie, you inspired my dinner tonight - pizza topped with ground elder (didn't know I could eat it until you told me) and nettles. It was delicious!

We had sausage and bean casserole - and then I want to my Zumba class!
