Whats your unusual lunch?

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Whats your unusual lunch?

Post: # 225440Post happyhippy »

Hi all,
I've just made myself an unusual lunch and wondered if any of you have had any "unusual"lunches?I was going to make cheese on toast.I opened my fridge and noticed I had some leftover cauli sitting there.So..... I ended up making cheese on toast(wholemeal),but first I heated up the cauli, then added it to each piece of toast, followed by some thinly sliced red onion and strong tasting mature cheese! It was delicious! So whats yours?

This is my relatively unusual salad.

Chop raw batons of carrot and broccoli and a small amount of red chilli.
Drizzle with a dressing made of soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and sesame seeds. It is delicious and healthy!

Before I stopped eating dairy, I always enjoyed a cheese and raw cabbage sandwich with wholemeal bread

Had the in-laws to tea testerday so had leftovers needing eating. For lunch I had a homemade bread roll with humous, with celery and carrot cucumber sticks mixed up with coleslaw, and some olives thrown in for luck. Bit of a mixed bag but suprisingly good. Oh and a chunk of fudgy walnut topping left over from the cake topping. :thumbright:

The DuynMetaal special,a bit of a whacky tradition at my workplace...
A roll filled with Surinam-style spicy egg salad, topped with hot & spicy pringles and chili sauce.

Oh crunchy, creamy, eggish flamin' goodness. :angryfire:

Mmmm.. very exotic. When fridge is bare and in a hurry I have been known to have a brown sauce sandwich!

Toast spread thinly with mayo and tom puree, top with mature cheddar and jalapeño chillies then microwave until cheese melts.

Tartex and sweetcorn relish roll,

Peanut butter, red pepper and cucumber sandwich

Cheese scones with marmite and thinly sliced red onions

Fishfinger, gherkin and mayo sandwich

Sometimes just a big bowl of sweetcorn with melted cheese and black pepper!

Tartex is vegan pate in a tube - comes in several flavours which are all quite tasty apart from the mushroom one which is :pukeright:

I enjoy the herb flavoured tartex! I also used to quite like a cornflake and sliced tomato roll.
