My new toy has clocked 37C in the greenhouse this week! not bad for March !

That doesn't help a lot, epecially in summer when it's 30+ outside and about 50 inside the greenhouse. Opening every ventilation hole and door and shading doesn't really do much to change the inside temp when the sun is beating down on it.

Hmm..good point,but it's been 16C up here this week (Unbelievably) and we reckon that's probably summer done and dusted !

Made me think that I ought to renovate mine. I've lost lots of glass courtesy of next door's apple tree but maybe I can protect it or replace it with polycarbonate or something.

Take it from me, polycarbonate is a doddle to work with and very tough.

We're using twin wall to make a polytunnel. To cut lengthways, a new blade in a Stanley knife. Widthways, a fine-bladed saw. It helps to have something to blow out the bits, such as the blow on a vacuum cleaner.

Apart from that, you can jump up and down on the stuff, it's so tough.

It is tough but when I bought it for a greenhouse I had once, it was VERY expensive -much more so than glass. And I came down to the garden after a storm to find that the panels had blown three gardens away!

I guess if you secure them properly, they work. Good luck Zoe - already I wouldn't be without mine, I love it and seem to find lots of reasons to sit in it!
