may I have a slightly annoyed rant please?

Post: # 228464Post mrsflibble »

and then may i have a shoulder to cry into? thanks.

i am so sick of the pressure in my head, i am sick of people asking me to do things and being peeved that i cant cos i have too much on my plate, i am sick of people expecting far more than i can give, of people giving me a 'little job' to do and it spiraling until it's an unrecognisable heap of cow dung, i am sick of poeple right now and frankly i want to lie down and ignore the world but i cant cos i have metres and metres of f***ing stupid bunting to make. i am sick of the 'more fabric for the bunting for you!! :)' texts from a woman i have told on numerous occasions that i will make what i can make i am not a f***ing machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!i am sick of people thinking they know better than me about things like f***ing stupid bastard bunting when they CANT EVEN F***ING SEW YOU STUPID B**CH THIS IS WHY THEY CALL YOU THE EVENTS NAZI AND WHY WHEN I SAW YOU WERE ON THIE F***ING STREET PARTY COMMITTEE I WANTED TO F***ING LEAVE!!!!!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

and breathe.

and yes, I am back on the meds and they are beginning to work thankyou.

please hug me :( or slap the events nazi or the local cafe owner for me? please? while I watch? pretty please?!

Are you being paid for this? if not tell this woman that you need some help.

Can't someone else help? using a sewing machine is not rocket science. Could someone not be doing the cutting out for you so that you just have to 'jzjzjzjjzjzz' it quickly through the machine!

I would tell this person to get her ar*e into gear and get you some help or there will be no bunting for the street party!

Give her the bunting you have made so far, smile sweetly, and say "Here look how much I have done, it took hours but I hope you are pleased with it. I would love to do more but I have my own work to get on with."

Believe me, she will think you are wonderful, thank you profusely and realise just how much pressure she has put you under. Or at least, she will thank you profusely.

Trust me, you will feel better for it. If you get time to do some more then do, but don't put yourself under pressure. You have already done more than some of the others.

:hugish:

I'm meant to be at a meeting tomorrow but thankfully it's my brother's 18th birthday so I have an excuse not to be there!!!

they will be fine with the 25 m i have done. no, I am not getting paid for this but i have other jobs which have been put on slight hold which I AM being paid for so they're taking priority again.

Really sympathise Mrs F - very annoying for you. I am known as the crafty person at my workplace, but people just don't appreciate how long things take to do and often ask me to do things that are totally unrealistic. I then feel bad saying no! I was recently asked to do handrolled hems on six silk chiffon scarves, in one evening! It would take me that long to do one! And then got told that someone else had agreed to do it, thereby making me out to be a real spoilsport because I wouldn't. She machined them!!!
Keep taking deep breaths...

Honestly, what a nerve! As above, it is hardly difficult to sew in a straight line ffs, I hate it when people pretend not to be able to do things so that they can get out of doing them.

A bit like my OH and the hoover :angryfire:

I agree with Zoe, a polite 'take this and piss off' should do the trick

Mrs F - walk away from the bunting. If you've done 25m (!!!) you've already done about 50 times your share of bunting for life. If they want more bunting they can make it themselves. If they can't sew they can glue it to a bit of bias binding and if it drops on their heads in the middle of the event, serve them right.

And yes, people have no clue how long it takes to do things. No clue ;-).
