Calling all Londoners
Hello Londoners, I've got a bit of promotion ahead of me to promote the new book but there is one big London shaped hole in my schedule.
Does anyone reading this know of anyone organising an event that could do with a speaker or someone to do a gardening demo?
Anything event or meeting that wouldn't mind if I invite a few members of the London press along would be perfect. It could be a large allotment society or ...well my mind has gone numb there, that's half the reason I'm asking. Any ideas anyone?

Just off the top of my head - have you thought about contacting the Olympic organisation in Stratford? They keep banging on about a green legacy...

Or one of the London City Farms - Newham, Spitalfields, Hackney, Mudchute, Stepney Green? Some of them grow food/host gardening groups as well as keeping animals.

The Dirty Hands Project in Stratford might be one to try - www.dirtyhands.org.uk. Very well thought-of locally, and just down the road from me...!

Isn't there a bit of an event at Westminster Abbey next week?
Methinks your speech would be a far better option!

Re: Calling all Londoners
Thanks for your suggestions (well most of them ). I might be heading north in August, I've got friends in Leeds, Middlesbrough and Kilder (nr Hexham) so I thought I could look into doing a talk or two and fund it by organising some wild food walks. A working holiday in other words.
I'm waiting to here back about the Green Fair in Regents park in June but some of these others look promising, when I get a moment I'll work out dates and budget and see about contacting them. Thanks again.

Shame you're not around Bristol. There an annual organic food fair in the city around August time I think you probably know about this already. Might be a bit too late in the year to get a spot. I'm guessing it's Bristol City Council you'd need to contact. There seems to be more and more of these events popping up.
