new handbag

linen outer: free in a box of stuff from my aunty
floral lining: 20p for two 6ft x 4ft curtains at a jumble
buttons: free from mother in law, circa 1960s/early 70s aparently
pattern: based on a Wild Winger Wild Things tie-bag, but slightly changed using newspaper and a marker pen.

Image

the strap is an over-body strap but has loads of hand done buton holes (couldnt find my buttonhole foot for the Jones machine... found now FFS) so that I can lengthen and shorten it.

Image

Image

even the clasp is lined ;)

Image

the inner lining has two pockets in the central divider, one large one for my keys and one small one for my phone. 1. it makes my phone easy to find and 2. my keys dont get jumbled up in my crochet ;)

now, this one is made from some M+S faux suede trousers and an old Evans shirt. both bought second hand, both hardly worn. top made me look like a potato, trousers idnt fit my thighs.

Image

I unpicked a bag I loved from university which had seen better days and used it as a pattern. I even re used the magnetic closure lol.

Image

and finally this one was made for my sister in law. someone at hobbycraft reduced a massive chunk of pleather wrongly, so I got 1.5 x 1m cream pleather for 50p!!

Image

lining is made form a tiny piece of upholstery fabric sent to me in a package of bits from an isher ;) handle is upholstery cord given to me by my aunty. the eyelets I had left over from another project.

Your bags are fab, but I had to have a giggle when I spied the Jammy Dodger. :grouphug:

I've not attempted lining one before though, I should give it a go and conquer the fear! :whdat:

I made a bag some time ago and it's getting a bit raggedy now, so I might just have to have another go. I've got plenty of spare sheets left

no, it was for snack. I recently found out jacobs cheap out on ingredients and so jammydodgers don't contain any dairy lol....I had put that on top of my amp before taking photos, i just forgot it was there lol.

They are gorgeous, especially the first one! I love floral lined things, they're so pretty without being overly patterned.
I made a bag at a stitch n' bitch workshop from the 'morsbags' pattern, it is literally just a sack and the handles are a bit short but it's really big and perfect for when I have to take loads of ebay stuff to the post office.
