I have just had my first book published, its:
I spend most of last year walking round the Dales, testing out lots of routes that would be good for Dogs (and their owners). Thats my dog (Charlie) as my avatar - he's a bit older now but just as lively. The walks are in some amazing scenery and I discovered for myself lots of new routes that I had not tried before. The book contains 20 circular walks that:
Keep the road walking to absolute minimum
Lots of off-lead opportunities for your friend
Plenty of rivers and streams to splash in
Avoid difficult styles
Takes you to some great places in the Dales
At the end of each walk there are dog-friendly pubs & cafes where you can sit and have a drink & a meal and your 4-legged friend can sit with you.
Info on nearest vets too.
Availabe online: www.countrysidebooks.co.uk Amazon and the like.
I've set up a separate website for updates and some more background info on the walks: http://www.dogfriendlywalks.com

Wow, well done Rob. The Dales are on my doorstep and OH was brought up there, so we walk a lot in and around them. Havent got a dog at the moment, but I doubt that it matters!

Re: Walk your Dog in the Yorkshire Dales!
Is the springer in your avatar your dog? I would love to have a springer, or a border collie (had the latter before), or preferably one of each! Unfortunatel;y at the moment, I spend too much time away from home to have a puppy in the house and where I go it couldnt come with me

He's beuatiful - and the right colour too! (Always a bonus for a woman to have things the right colour!) Seriously though, I do prefer the liver and white to the black and white.

What a handsome guy and the book is a great idea.........now all you need to do is a whole set of books, one for each county .
Life's a bitch and then you diet.
Re: Walk your Dog in the Yorkshire Dales!
this is a Welsh springer spaniel. A great companion. Not quite so full on as the English springer ( as you can see)
