Little white maggots among the strawberry roots.

Digging out some strawberry plants to transplant, I find little white maggots living among the roots. Friend or foe? I'm guessing foe.

Sounds like the dreaded Vine Weevil grubs, in which case most definitely FOE,
Not sure if they do actually eat strawberry roots but if the are pure white with blackish heads then that's what you've got.

I know this is an older subject but I had these on one of my strawberry plants. I removed all the little blighters and replanted the plant. It looked like it was going to die but is now thriving.
