I've been looking for plants or seeds in New Zealand but am yet to have any success in locating them

I might be joining you buying some seeds as my plant died due to the head of the irrigation sprayer getting clogged up without my realising it. It could not stand the extreme heat here with no water

Stevia was mentioned on last night's Great British Food Revival food. The herb expert Jekka McVicar mentioned it - the gist if it being that it would be next BIG thing which may revolution the food industry.

I was wracking my brain trying to remember where I'd read it about it before but where else but the 'Ish!

Just seen an advert on TV under the brand name Truvia. According to their website the stevia leaves are dried then brewed like tea. Quote " After the water absorbs the sweet essence of the leaves in the first extraction, the mixture is strained to remove plant matter. Then, it's purified to separate steviol glycoside, the best-tasting part of the stevia leaf. Water is evaporated and steviol glycoside crystals form. Finally, these sweet crystals are evaporated one last time from a mixture of water and food-grade alcohol to ensure that the sweet granules are of the highest purity and quality."

Would be weird if we were just putting in the pulverised leaf powder into our drink. It would be weird as it would be green.

Yeah right. The Canderel one i bought today was called Green Canderel and in a green packet yet the granules are like finely ground sugar (white)

stevia is also a fantastic foliar feed for tomatoes etc. just make the tea as normal, let it cool and filter into a plant spray. make sure you get the undersides of the leaves.

Me too, hate the aftertaste which is a shame as I'm now diabetic and don't like unsweetened coffee.
Some people say that there is no aftertaste to Truvia, but as I haven't seen any in Ireland yet I don't know if that's true.
