I went on a science field trip to CERN when I was doing A level physics. It didn't help, I still failed. The highlight of the trip was getting lost in Paris on the way back and ending up in the red light district. Oh, and getting very drunk at a Swiss fondue dinner in Geneva. Just think, Tim Berners-Lee was at CERN at the time, you never know, I might even have met him and not realised just how much he would change our lives. If it wasn't for particle research, we wouldn't be chatting like this now.

wow what school did you go to? we never got out the school grounds for physics!
id love to go there, however when i was in school i probably wouldnt have relized how significant it was.
i faild my physics exam too
its only since going to uni that iv became facinated by it.
i think though, the kind of physics we did in school was all building curcit boards and learning formulas which was boring at the time. now i choose to just read about what interests me and leave all the boaring bits out
but hey, brian cox failed his phyisics A level too! and just look at him now

The "learning formulae" bit only gets worse once you get into university-level physics... I dropped out in second year because I just couldn't hack the maths any more.

I would loveto see if I could do a physics A-level today. I dropped out of chemistry A-level because I just didn't 'get' it, although I was 16 and much more interested in boys and stuff at the time.

Wheras now, I recon I would have the patience to sit down and learn it all.

I must be like one of those Victorian folk who thought if you went too fast in a moving vehicle you would pass out.
I am suspicious and wish folk would stop messing with stuff we don't understand ... maybe when they open whatever door they've been trying to understand, we will all get sucked into it and then ..... nothing!

its humanly impossible!

apart from those mini black holes, but they only exist for a minutly small fraction of a second as they are unstable and they are so small they are almost undetectable.
oh and there are also sound black holes, but they only suck in sound waves, so your safe
