Re: Are you still smoking tobacco?
Is it not the same as chewing tobacco? Thats what i tried, and it is foul. And supposedly its got tiny shards of glass in it to cut your mouth so the tobacco goes into your bloodstream better.

Re: Are you still smoking tobacco?
No it's not the same as chewing tobacco because it is made from tobacco that is air-cured always and then pasteurised. And no it definitely does not contain tiny shards of glass! That was a myth put about about regarding dip tobacco in the US. Nothing to do with Swedish snus.demi wrote:Is it not the same as chewing tobacco? Thats what i tried, and it is foul. I think it's crazy how something as safe as Swedish snus is demonized yet cigarettes are completely legal.

Are you on commission or something?
I'm no longer addicted to nicotine, but I still smoke the occasional cigar...

If you are no longer addicted to nicotine then snus is not for you. If you smoked cigars or cigarettes regularly then i would recommend it to you.

Re: Are you still smoking tobacco?
I have about 8 pipes I use in rotation. I mainly smoke straight pipes and favour my Falcons. I also have a Peterson Donegal Rocky, a Lovat and a wee Stonehaven.
Different pipes tend to be dedicated to different tobaccos. My Stonehaven and Lovat for burleys, my Donegal for latakias and the Falcons for varginias and lakeland aromatics.
This week I am mostly smoking Presbyterian Mixture. There's probably over 3,000 tobacco blends although only a few are available in the UK (maybe 100 or so?).
And before I get told off, I am a fully grown adult and am aware I am smoking tobacco. Pipe smokers dont inhale - its a taste thing, so the risks, whilst present are greatly reduced. The chemical content of pipe baccy (as in added chemicals) is nil. As a staunch non smoker for 41 years, I still can't abide cigs. Someone on a pipe forum compared pipe baccy like caviare and coffin nail baccy like dog food!
Whilst working, a bowl a night is sufficient. It takes about an hour to smoke a bowl of ready rubbed and maybe two hours for a bowl of flake tobacco. I am dole scum just now so probably pushing 5 bowls a day....
*reaches out for my tin of Presbyterian Mixture and my Pete*

Re: Are you still smoking tobacco?
That would be me. I had a crappy basket pipe and some vanilla cream. I gave it another go with some decent baccy and a Falcon and never looked back. Why do folk get encouraged to start with aromatics? Not the best idea in my opinion.
I do follow a lot of pipe presenters on YT but dont present myself. I learned a lot from these guys and also the T&P forum.
Enjoying a bowl of Grousemoor at the moment. A bit strongly flavoured but still a nice baccy. Not sure I will buy another tin though.
Do you do pipes as awell as snus?

Re: Are you still smoking tobacco?
Hey good to read up about your pipe smoking. I have been snussing for coming up to two years now. I have about 5 pipes. One of them is a huge Mario Grandi. I haven't used any of them for a few months now due to the convenience of snus. But, i should do as i miss the kind of meditative quality you can get when working up a rhythm breathing smoke out your nose. I am on strong snus which kills my appetite for smoking... though sometimes i long to spend a day smoking a briar pipe.Thurston Garden wrote:Do you do pipes as awell as snus?
