Inexpensive seed suplier

Post: # 270598Post Thurston Garden »

I remember finding a UK seed supplier a few years back who sold seeds at c.50p a pack. There was no glossy packet outer, only the foil inner hence the reduction in cost. My dull memory thinks it was a well known veg bod like Medwyn Williams or someone similar.

Can anyone think of the company at all?

Have you ever heard of http://www.realseeds.co.uk/? I don't know about cheap but they are small, organic and deserve a chance compared to the, much reviled here, Chase/HDRA. They're friends of a friend, and have not sold their ideals down the river yet.

Certainly NOT cheap if you live outside of the UK as they charge £9.00 postage for a packet of seed.

Thanks all, Seed Parade are worth a good look. I have used Real Seeds in the past too. Chase/HDRA have mucked up far too many orders in years gone past to deserve any of my cash. Customer service scores zero in my book...

Tamar Organics are very helpful. They will do discounts for gardening groups, I have always found their seeds to be very well priced, used them for many years and with an organic gardening group I was involved in, they used to do huge orders for us and never cocked them up.

I use http://www.qualityseeds4less.co.uk they are brilliant. Great seeds again without the fancy packaging. Germination rates are better than I have ever had from the bigger seed companies, postage is super quick and they are good for advice too. Highly recommended.

sales@premierseedsdirect.com

Or find them on ebay.

I have used them these last 3 years, seeds are 99p a pack, but only one postage charge, and they do allot of perennials, which I like, and I find germination to be very good, and the packs are again not fancy, but you get allot for your money.

The postage is only 57p as well, which for more than 3 packs is still good value I reckon.

I do use ebay and use paypal, but you might get a responce??

They are based in Hampshire.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

I have bought a lot of my seeds from them this year. I ordered before this thread and they came quickly. I was worried about the quantity of seed you got, but that looks fine, and I am pleased that you have found germination to be good.

If everything is ok this year I shall dfinitely use them again.

I have ordered all mine for this year, but wanted a specific cucumber and found this site.

http://www.midlandseedcompany.co.uk/

It looks really good - I shall prob order more than just the cucumber seeds, even though I have already got the seeds I need. Seedaholic
