Hasn't been below about 6 degrees here yet, although I wouldn't mind a couple of sharp frosts to kill off a few pests.

If you ever fancy a change of climate Tony, come to Leitrim, we had a lovely hard frost the other day. What time are you getting dark in the evenings in the country of Cork, this evening it was gone 5.00 before it was really dusk

I have 4 pullets that have just started laying every day now. They are the reprieved fatteners that had to be pressed into a new venture after the mink got my laying hens a couple of months back.
I went out tonight to shut them up at about 5:20 and it was plenty light enough to do that job.

Thanks Lyn, I'll pass on your offer, I'm not THAT eager to have a frost. Some of the daffodils are just about to turn their heads over, so a few more sunny days and it will at least look like spring.
