HFW's war on waste

Post: # 285761Post Flo »

Have we all seen it or heard of it?

What does the jury say - other than a lot of people have more money than sense.

Has anybody seen or heard anything how supermarkets compare on the waste issue? I've always felt that maybe the likes of Aldi and Lidl, who are not afraid of running out of stock, might do better - they obviously don't overbuy to make sure their shelves are always stocked... (Which would be one reason why they can be cheaper, too.)

Of course not - which supermarket would want to be given the title of the most wasteful?

This article sheds a little light, but not on specific supermarkets.

Thanks for that link. Yeah - interesting. But it gives the total weight of waste per country, which doesn't take into account the size of the country... Would be more interesting still if we knew waste per person.

(Yes, I know - could work it out, but too lazy just now to find the citizens per country figures!)
