Hate to tell you, Tony, but they're tomatoes and beans - not pot. (I just thought I'd get that one in before doofa turns up).

However, they are looking rather splendid - we have this weekend earmarked for sowing our tomatoes.

They are Ina, exactly south, and I have just over 26 feet of them all told to play with.

Have you ever tried smoking dried tomato leaves Maggie ?
That would be a amusing situation if tomatoes were classified as class B.

They are Stupice restricted to one truss each, just to tide me over.
All my summer ones are now up, and I have at least one plant each of the seed you sent, I'll let you know how I get on with them.

Argh - here's me green with envy!

I got some ancient tomato seeds from a friend (who never, ever throws anything like that out...) I'm sure they were dated something like 1993. Oh well, I only need one plant, so I thought I give it a try... Chucked them all into a small tray of seed compost.

Last count was around two dozen seedlings. And since I also never, ever throw anything out, least of all nice little plants, I shall have to start a trade in Gardener's Delight this summer!

Ooh, that's exciting. I can't wait to see what your Silvery Fir tomatoes look like (I'm still fairly certain we didn't get a single specimen - the plants are beautiful though not much use if they don't fruit).

Yes I agree, the Silver Fir tomato is very pretty, worth growing just as a pot plant.
I grew Yellow Brandywine one year, in ideal conditions with all my other varieties, and it didn't produce one flower, not even a hint of a truss, and I allowed it to grow to over 6 feet tall.

My Silver Fir compared to a Bloody Butcher ...

It gets even prettier as it grows - it stays quite compact, bushy and feathery. Well it did here anyway.

nice plants, Odsox, will you plant them outside eventually?

No, they are destined to stay where they are.
They are restricted to one truss each, so should all be picked by mid April

Unfortunately my pot plants have stopped flowering and are now running to seed.

I'm not remotely envious.

My 3 year old chilli is looking good though. I thought it was dead and now it's lush and green - no peppers yet though, maybe a smidge early, especially for up here. It's amazing what a drink of water will do.

At least this year I have a greenhouse of my own so can transfer some of my seedlings there to grow on when the weather warms up. Sweet peppers and chillis on the go - not as far ahead as Tony but they should catch up as soon as the sun comes out on a regular basis.
