Well they don't taste like shop bought ones.
These are not only sweet, they have flavour and a refreshingly sharp aftertaste, not the bland sweet taste of shop ones.
Last year's sultanas were exactly the same.
The problem is it's another one of those things that you now have to keep on doing, like growing you own tomatoes, in that you can't go back to supermarket tat.

Now it's the white grapes turn, turning into sultanas that is.
And there are literally shed loads of those to do, but never mind, it is harvest time after all.

That'd make some tasty muesli,

Finished drying the black grapes, ended up with 2.4 Kg of raisins which looks about right for a year's supply. Plus we have 8 bunches left for munching and for muesli.
White grapes so far have produced 1.5 Kg of sultanas, which again looks about right. Trouble is we're only about half way through picking them and although we will probably dry a lot more, I can't see them all being used. Even with loads of mincemeat and Christmas puddings a bit later will not use up 6 Kg of dried fruit. The rest will have to be juiced.
So, one white grape rod will be taken out later, which will suit me nicely as it will let more light into the greenhouse for other things.
There is going to be a BIG reorganisation in my big greenhouse this autumn/winter with re-roofing and rearranging the hydroponics tubes.

They keep - you never know, next year might be bad for grapes...
