It seems that I'm not safe to use the washing machine after a very mechanically minded neighbour sorted out the contents of the filter. Three washes and all the long plastic plant labels eventually came out along with a pound coin. Am on regular pocket checking now. But at least the washing machine is still working!

I would love to be able to sew...but so far I have made two skirts, two tops and a dress, and none of them are fit to wear out of the house. If I added the cost of the materials together I recon I could probably have bought myself an original Vivienne westwood or something!

Have a look on Craftsy, Bonnie, they do some good courses - some are free but even the others are often on sale.

And no, I'm not on commission, but I've enjoyed several of the courses and have got several more lined up.

Will do Maggie, once the memory of my hideous seersucker singlet wears off.

I think the trick must be to learn how to adapt the patterns to fit your shape - I am a different size on top to bottom.
