Training course content

Post: # 288472Post fruitfly »

I'd like to know what the contents are of the CIEH Level 1 Award in Food Safety Awareness in Catering to National Industry Standards. The information I've come across so far only shows the syllabus of the course and I'd like to know exactly what someone will have learned from having done it. Does anyone know of a resource out there?

I've never heard of CIEH. In Scotland we have RIH (I think). I've done the Basic Food Hygiene Cert. We needed it to open our bakery so I guess it would be at a similar level. It was was it said on the tin - basic food hygiene. Hand washing, safe food storage, where to put different foods in fridge etc.
It was a one day course and although we didn't learn much we didn't know already there were a couple of bits. It's basically paying for the certificate, but necessary, so if you need it for work or something, get it done - it certainly isn't difficult.
That's assuming it's anything like the same course.

What impressed me was that you typed all that again, word for word, in 1 minute flat.
That's 114 wpm typing.
