Jam Success

Post: # 32444Post Masco&Bongo »

Hurray! My jam making worked!

I didn't have a jam thermometer or a proper "jam pan" but it has worked!

I now have 12 8oz jars of Victoria Plum jam ready to label up for Christmas presents!

Just got to make all the apple pies and plum crumbles now for the Christmas hampers!

Watch out Delia, Nigella et all!

Well done, you!

My was left on for too long and it is hard as anything now. I could probably lay tiles with it or something ...

I made some last year and still have some left. I am not a huge jam eater so it has lasted pretty well. I do have to scrape a layer of mould off the top every now and then!

I found a new use for jam recently. Make jam sandwiches, dip them in beaten egg and fry them in butter, sprinkle with sugar and serve with ice cream. My kids demolished them.

oooh...that sounds like an excellent use for jam!!

I made 14 jars so far this year...all my friends now have a pot in their kitchens!!

I made 10 cherry plum and 4 cherry and green plum. My sister's going to pick a secret stock of blackberries today too...so no doubt i'll be adding a few pots of blackberry to the running total too!

mmm...cherry plum sandwiches....fried....ice cream..

Don't want to think about the calories!! Apparently, elvis enjoyed deep fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I have to admit i've been wanting to try one of those for a while..
