Good Evenin from stormy auld Bolton!
In a bid not to get attached to the stainless steel providor I grow most of my own food on an allotment and in my back garden, also make fuel logs and hunt for old wood froms skips and alleyways to power the woodburner that heats mosta the house.

dya make paper logs? we do too... and have let it be known we will take any old rubbish wood off people's hands. -recycle it into heat keeps the place warm

Hi Northernhoard. So you'd recommend the paper log makers then? I'm thinking of getting one. How long do the logs last? Can you use them as your only fuel or are they best saved for getting the fire going then heave some wood on afterwards?

Yeah the log makers are ok, ,theyve coe down in price too, the logs can last a few hours if you manage to get the paper down to a pulp, as far as drying thay take about two weeks, a lot less in the summer, a couple of days drying outside.

Ive used them on their own with a little kindling to get them going, I usually use them with scrap wood though

yeh me too - we tend to make them in the winter and use spare greenhouse space to dry them out.
