3. Join a local food co-operative (but not at the expense of your local shops)

4. buy in bulk direct fromthe supplier if possible (i did this recently with hair dye)
5. buy online
6. join a veg box scheme and have them delivered
7. Have a friend who goes to markets (bit easier for those who live near london/ports) and have them pick up stuff for you - we do this with meat and cheese.

10. swap/barter goods (ie. fruit, veg, jam, booze, etc) with neighbours

Find local suppliers. I've got a local veggie stand and hardware store. Am getting off the mega-stores more and more.
