That's the one! We have 2 Tamworth sows (1 in pig as we speak and waiting to farrow) a Sussex Devon cross cow with a steer and a calf, loads of Aylsebury ducks , Cornish Game, Dorkings, Black Rocks and Welsummers, A British Guernsey goat, Poll Dorset and Jacobs X Shetland sheep, 6 cats and 3 kids!

had a look around Urban 75 forum the other day. Not sure weather or not to post anything to the conversation that you seem to have started on the forum. Working on an article about solar enegry and dave is working on a wild food article. Could not believe some of the posts, the fella living in a flat in Bristol seems to have totally missed the point. I live in a flat just down the road from him in bath. Does not like gardening or recipes, how on earth is he going to be even a bit self sufficientish. Anyway cheers for the good stuff you wrote about us.

Hi - me again! Hope you don't mind me starting that thread on urban it's just peeps on there seem to be interested in organic food and sustainability. I agree some of them missed the point but I reckon they were just in an argumentative mood that day! :)

I think you might be right about the argumentative mood. phew, we got some ribbing on that forum.(as did you, thanks for sticking up for the site).

Course I don't mind you starting up a thread, we get alot of our visitors coming from different threads started in forums. It was good to get some feedback as well, even if most of it was negative. The thing is without feed back we only have our stats to go on about what people like. So to find out why some people only look for a few seconds helps.

P.S. If you want to write anything about your experiences on your small holding for us let me know. I am sure there would be many people interested.

Organic seed too. I had a quick look through and they definetly do Lambs lettuce, if they don't do cress give me a shout and I will send you some over. Is there many vegetables over there that we don't get here??

Hi Andy,
We have many types of pumpkin, and use them in many different ways.
When I was in UK a couple of years back, pumkin was only around at Halloween, most people I spoke to had no idea what to do with it and from making Jack o lanterns
Some of our vegies have differnet name too Zucchini you call corguets,
snap peas you call something different to.
Some one I met on the gardening web has sent me some lambs lettuce seeds also some kale seeds. I will see how I go with these

That does seem to be the case in the UK, Pumkins are not originally from here so I guess we (as a nation) don't know what to do with them. I think we have more (old) recipes for turnip as this was what we orginally used as Jak-o-lanterns. I believe that it originated in Scotland then the americans started to use pumpkins and so we all followed suit.

Not heard of snap peas, what are they??

Think we will put up some pumkin recipes just to show that there is more to the humble pumkin than meets the eye.

I guess it is peak season over there at the moment for growing things, I have noticed that we have more people from your neck of the woods looking at our site.
