Nearly finshed a great big book
Almost finished writing the book, in fact Dave has written his bit of text and I have about 2000-3000 words to go. Total word count at the moment is around 160 000 words (around a 400 page book). A lot of what we have written is from personal experience coupled with loads of research (first time I have ever reach my 20 book limit at the library).
We have covered every aspect of life with tips of how to be selfsufficientish. As we have both spent our lives being pretty skint there are plenty of cheap and free ideas in there. In fact we hope that for the £25 cover price most people will be able to save at least double that.
It has been hard work and there have been times that we both thought we would not do it, but we have! I think we are probally some of the only two people who have been happy of such a wet summer. It has helped us to not feel like we are missing out on anything.
Well there are still a few edits to go and some photos be taken but as far as getting up every morning sitting in front of the computer and writing is concerned them days have gone (until the second book).
So in short expect me back around on the forum a bit more

Congratulations, Guys. That is a fantastic achievement. I can't wait for it in print.
Eeek, suddenly remembers I promised you some metric measurements for a bread recipe. Sorry guys, I will try to remember to look it up later
It'll be good to have you back around the site a bit more.
Cheers

Nope, there's 3 of us! I was expecting to be made redundant earlier this year so was planning to use my redundancy money to fund a couple of months off, playing with the chooks in the garden. When I was told I'd be here until September I was gutted. Now I'm really quite happy to have another 4 months money and don't feel that I've missed out on anything.Andy Hamilton wrote:I think we are probally some of the only two people who have been happy of such a wet summer. Congrats you two - a lot of very hard work!!!!
Make that 4 of us.... have been out of action for a month and so many things haven't been planted because I just haven't been able to do so.Thomzo wrote:Nope, there's 3 of us! Well you can buy it at blackwells or the [urlhttp://www.shopireland.ie/books/detail/0340951 ... ible,-The/]irish book shop[/url] or just wait until it is actually out and we will do our best to set something up on here to sell it. - hopefully for cheaper than the shops and signed too!
