101 ways to cheer yourself up
been fighting the blues lately.. and find that the following always make me feel positive:
1. sunshine
2. being outside
3. exercise
4.harvesting own fruit/veg
5 something special to look forward to
6 carbohydrates... usually in cake form...

Ah Red, sorry to hear you've been a bit down. You're not the only one so take comfort that others are there with you. Here are my suggestions:
14. Lighting a fire on a cold winter evening and reading a book with the cat on my lap.
15. Going out dancing.
16. Ringing a friend.
17. Logging on to Ssish
18. Doing a job that I've been putting off, like filing. It always makes me feel good when I've achieved something. If I'm feeling down then I do the washing up and clean the kitchen. I love my kitchen when it's all clean and tidy and it makes me feel loads better.
19. Walking to a distant shop to buy chocolate. That takes all the guilt out of it and the exercise is a great pick-me-up. Also the chances are I'll bump into someone I know on the way and stop for a chat.
20. Watching my chooks.
Well, no excuses to be miserable now.

21 the unconditional love of my cat (although he would deny it and say I am his servant...)
22 when my son suddenly 'gets something' when I am teaching him
23 seeing the sea (though only from the land)
24 cooking (not making something to eat, but creating)
25 preserving.

33 Mad dancing round the kitchen with the radio playing full blast, other halfs. kids and cats
34 Goodies through the post
35 Waking up early in the morning and realising that theres still time for a snuggle and a chat before the alarm
36 Foraging as a family
37 Putting your forrages to good use
38 The taste of still warm jam on still warm bread!!
I could go on for ages 'cos almost everything cheers me up - apart from the Council tax bill!!

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

40. A cup of tea (I'm not even British!)
41. Singing (also to keep myself awake while driving, works like a treat)
Already mentioned: DH's presence, cat(s) in lap, reading a book, music. And I KNOW that excersise, cleaning up, gardening etc. would help when I'm feeling down, but usually when I'm really feeling down I don't have the energy to go out and DO it. Doesn't happen too often, fortunately.

42. Friends... sitting and having a good old natter over some good food and a glass of wine/cup of coffee.
43. Friends again - when they know you need help and come round and give their time and effort without a second thought. (Thanks folks :D)
44. My camera - going out for a walk armed with my camera. It makes me stop and notice things that I'd otherwise walk past. A whole new world.
