What's wrong with this place?

I know I am old and getting slow, but at times, especially at night, this site is so slow that it makes me look like lightning. Oft-time I just caint wait long enough to even read whats here.

I also know my computer is a bit like me, old and slow, but it is not anywhere near this slow on other sites and forum.

had me scratching my head for a while.........I know the server is a good fast one - I suspect two things may be responsible - some plonker has grafted in "Statcounter" which I gave up with years ago, as it can slow sites to a crawl
(their servers are always overloaded) - so easy to use one of four different flavours of stats accessed from the website control panel................
The other thing that may be slowing it is the positive plethora of Googleads....... but then I may be seen as showing bias there.......

Must say that I've not had a problem with the speed on here for a good long time... but I do have problems on other sites and forums/fora whatever.

I agree with Shirlz - since the last server change I haven't noticed any slowness on the site - something we used to have a problem with.

Well I am sure Martin has answered the question brilliantly for some but sorry mate I don't understand a word of what you said. It all went right over my head. Like I said I am old and slow so that might be the problem.

But seroiously, it is only this forum and the Irish one that are ever slow to me out of about 6 that I frequent, and this is the slowest by miles, or to be more midren down here kilometres.
