101 things to do with carrots

101 Uses For is popular and let's hope it stays that way. Our second book is presently called 101 tips for self sufficiency; we will certainly dip into this section for ideas. So post away and let's try and get at least one thread up to 101.

Trouble is in Victorian times they had a whole team of gardeners so could afford the time to do things like that!

Is anyone keeping count of how many ideas have been suggested so far? Perhaps you could use a stack of carrots to keep count? Or cut notches in one?

Actually, the idea I was planning to suggest was to hollow out a carrot and use it as a flute. I've not done it myself, but I've heard that it has been done successfully.

I suppose a turkey made out of carrot would provide a nice alternative to nut roast for a vegetarian Christmas dinner.

 yeah i suppose it would... mind you i have a recipe somewhere for moulded tofu; it recommends to mould it into the shape of a pig's head to look like a vegetarian suckling pig (point? dont think there is one) but I suppose a turkey could be fashioned in much the same way!
