1. flew jets in the Air Force
2. am a firefighter (that's two dreams of every little boy: pilot and fireman)
3. went on a pilgrimage to India
4. had a personal audience with the Dalai Lama
5. saw the Beatles perform live in 1964
6. don't owe anyone any money
7. discovered I had a cousin that I never knew about
I'm starting to run low. The rest are things that folks out in the world probably haven't done, but many regulars here have...
8. became a practicing hippie at age 50
9. packed in the career with no parachute
10. moved to paradise

Well this is an interesting thread. Makes you wonder what you have done with your life!

1. Flown a Glider solo around Weston Super Mare.
2. Won the paperboy of the year competition.
3. Got a job at 17 working behind a bar, only for my estranged mother to phone the employer and tell them my age.
4. Employed a team of 20 fudge packers.
5. Dropped my phone out of my pocket as I got in my "Jag" on Oxford Street down a 20 foot drain.
6. Been the subject of an emergency tree preservation order, as with my little chain saw I was an imminent threat to the public ammenity.
7.Bought a house converted into 10 bedsits, including a 20 meter Bathroom extension, only to find out I needed planning permission, and couldn't get it.
8.When the Pub Closed that I used to go to, me and my partner bought the lease within 24 hours of it closing......expensive pint.
9.Was circumsied at 13, EMBARRASING!!!
10.Developed recipes with Gary Rhodes, Jamie Oliver, & the Tanner brothers.

Well that wasn't so bad, boy I have made a few dodgy decisions! The one I know you will all have done, but I feel most proud of, thats giving up a stressfull job at 37 to look after my children to enable my wife to train as a nurse. Best thing I ever did.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Ha! These are brilliant!

1. I'll match your extra in casualty, although I got told off by the director for over-acting! (they showed it though!)

2. Spent the night on a stone bothy perched edge of a cliff in the outer-hebredies listening to waves crash and seals call, with a peat fire to keep warm.

3. Skydived from 14,000 feet (well, I was strapped to a professional anyway)

4. Won the 2010 Kington Langley Scarecrow Festival People's Choice award with a 'YMCA' set of scarecrows and was in the local paper (if you live in KL you will get that this is a big deal)

5. Fitted a kitchen and bathroom all by myself at the age of 22.

6. Eh... struggling now... This year had an english breakfast which we produced entirely from our own garden (except the tea and milk)

7. Got together (and still am and will likely marry) a random stranger who used to smile at me/visa versa every day on my walk to work.

8.Don't know anyone famous but David Bellemy opened our school pond and Monty Don said 'excuse me' to me once.

9. A diving one..ran out of air when diving in strong currents(!)

10. Worked full time while I was a student (boringly)
"A pretty face is fine, but what a farmer needs is a woman who can carry a pig under each arm"

Milims do you know if I could get old copies of the program  as I only had 20 minutes to warn Sue that I was going to be on the telly, and instead of finding someone to tape it she, and her mate spent the whole time nearly wetting them selves with laughter watching me

I didn't finish my 10 items, I was distacted by screaming babies. So...

4. I dropped our hotel keys overboard when on a gondola ride in Venice. I blame Mack. Had he not asked me to make sure I had them I would not have pulled them from my pocket with a flourish. Watching his open-mouthed amazement as they arched into the water was ALMOST worth the trouble we had later...

5. Woke up in a tent on a camping trip in Northern California to find what was probably a gopher snake curled up right next to my head. These things are reasonably harmless but look horribly like a rattle snake, are about five feet long and can even imitate the rattle. I didn't stop to check what he actually was, I was out of there!

6. Once ate alligator meat. Chewy and definitely NOT like chicken.

7. Went up on the top of a light aircraft as a "wing walker" as a favour to a friend. The candidate he had recruited had backed out. Sensible girl...

8. Learned how to "360" and land a BMX bike after spending an afternoon supervising a bunch of teenage guys in a park area. I had a LOT of scrapes and bruises but the cheers and general "respect" I got was was amazing.

9. Learned Morse code, 20 words a minute send and receive. Pretty proud of that, although the wartime aircrews would probably laught at it as chickenfeed...

10. Bottom of the barrel time here... Took a huge ice cooler of sodas in the back of the car out to near the Edwards Air Force base in the Mojave when one of space shuttles was coming in. The dollars we made paid for our fuel and lunch AND we got to see the shuttle land, sonic booms and all. I'm not sure I would do this myself but I was just a kid out with Mom, Dad plus four siblings.

Once grew hundreds of banana plants every month for sale.
For a bar room bet rode a old honda Lands end to J o' Gs and back in 3 days without backup in November.
Got arrested twice in the same day for being drunk and disorderly.
Had a sow have 16 in one farrowing, all survived(obviously had to bottlefeed 2 for weeks).
Woke at night to serious housefire, narrow escape, house gutted.
Set off by motorbike to NZ in the late 70's,ran out of cash in Islamabad,on the same trip........
Rode a motorcycle through Iran a week after the revolution(didn't know anything about it)
Didn't have any children till I was 45,then had 4 in 6
Met Princess Margeret when I was 14 (smelt like she'd been drinking even more than I had).
Got thrown out of a Reeves and Mortimer gig for ''being silly'' (!)
Saved a good friends life when he was choking, only for him to drown in a canal 2 years later aged 42.
Had a cup of tea in June Whitfield's kitchen dressed in full biker gear.We talked for ages, she was lovely.
Had a daughter strong and brave enough to have 2 operations while still in the womb, only to die the day she was born.
