The white stuff is fungus, and it doesn't cause a problem at first. But soon the leaves start dying, and then the whole plant. I'm going to be trying milk spray this year on my cucumbers and courgettes.

I watered mine this morning with soapy water. The leaves are looking clean and green again, apart from a few spots where the mildew is hanging on tight. Let's wait and see what happens.
