Use something like ecover, and wash your veg before you eat it - or wait till after a rain shower before picking it - It worked on the greenfly on my broccoli

I've found that soapy/salty water, might put the buggers off, but it won,t get rid of 'em. Either way it shouldn't impair the flavour of the veg.
