Usually lots of flounder. Ragworm on hook, a spoon above and let a substantial float drift it across the muddy bottom. Thanks for the tip on chicken skin, will try it later in the year,

That's an idea, haven't been flounder fishing for years, not since I was about 13!

Biggest fish I ever caught was a 15 foot shark. I used to sail in the Persian Gulf and we used to use the slops form the kitchen, a meat hook on a rope and a boat hook as a gaff. The chinese fitters used all the meat and the chines carpenter used to skin it and use it as sandpaper. Apart from that the only fishing I've done was for mullett in a creek down here in Cornwall. We use to use a pair of tights and bread crumbs.

There's a creek on the Roseland where we used to live and the mullet comes in and scavenges in the mud. If you put a load of bread down they all come and fight over it. We used to get a pair of tights and use a coat hanger around the waist band to keep it open. The stupid things used to be so focussed on feeding you could scoop them up off the jetty.
