I didn't get any seed although I see above that I mentioned I would be willing to try.

I trust that they got some info from my postings as I seem to remember that when I first started posting on here, most people with tunnels left them empty all winter. :dontknow:

My tunnels and greenhouses have always been the opposite, chock full to the gunnels (or is it gunwhales ?) summer and winter alike.

That's daft,  for me a polytunnel would be something used more in winter than summer!

Not really when you think that the traditional use for greenhouses, and therefore tunnels by association, is for growing tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, cucumbers and melons. Late autumn and early winter it was used for chrysanthemums, and then empty till tomato planting time .. Jan - April.
Maybe it's different for people who live close to the equator in tropical France.

I was talking about here, it's too hot for growing things in greenhouses etc in summer, as even if it's only in the low 20s but sunny it would be about 35C in a greenhouse so way too hot for poor veg, let alone me  , so I would make the most of it in our sometimes cold winters. In the UK it could still be put to really good use though, so I was surprised that people didn't use them in winter! Here I can't keep parsley going even through a mild winter so herbs etc would be great in a polytunnel I would imagine, and PSB, not just for protection against bitter winds but against the worst of the cold. (mine died last winter from the cold :( ).

And Susie I thought you had a long dry period like everyone else - I remember a lot of moaning on this forum about having to water (shock horror!!) your crops. How quickly everyone forgets.
