ooh yes I will do so today!
I do like French vegie names much better than the ones we use in Australia, Courgette, aubergine and mange tout sound so much more refined than , zucchini, eggplant and snow pea...

I'm so glad it is winter and I can have a break from all that!
Did you ever try the pumpkin chutney recipe that I gave you Homegrown? It turned out quite OK but not as good as the apple one that I make when I've got a glut and love the best.

I have made my version (I had brown vinegar, no dry mustard and no cornflour- I used plain flour but did consider using birds custard powder briefly... hrrrrm) and I am pleased with the results.
Homegrown you have been busy- is lemon honey what we called lemon butter or lemon curd?

MMM, sorry I haven't yet waiting for the autmn harvest, which the way our weather's going could be early, had the fire going last two days, JB I'm pretty sure you call it lemon curd, we dropped the green tomato relish and made pear and green tomato chutney, it turn out great. starting plum jam and beetroot pickle tomorrow. The great thing is that a lot of this will be sold at a big market on the 20th along with my planters and seedlings, there is suppose to be several thousand people through it, wish us luck

Re: Pickling/relish making Q's
Green Rosie- I made a half recipe of the Chocolate courgette cake.
It is really lovely. I have made one from another recipe and it was awful but this one even kept the children quiet when they were scraping the batter out of the bowl and off the beater.. anything that makes the kiddies be quiet even for a messy few minutes is a winner in my book!
Ish seems to make my eldest talk even more than most things... " I wike those happy fings ...look a flower.... look a duck....look AHHAHH a flower....loook a chi-cken... loook a flower...MUMMY look ....berries" etc
I might have to whip up another batch of the cake batter to keep him quiet
