I have been out busily planting rue to try to deter the stinky next door tom who sprays our place, our cat who alternates between the front of the compost heap and my carrot seedlings and whomever is pooping out the front. I suspect the stinky tom as the spot was full of poo when we moved here, then I removed the plant, concrete and most of the soil replacing with mulch and new plants... still pooping there so I have planted rue on the spot. I am hoping for a little success...

Thank you for this - I was having a problem with my (non existent) spring onions in the raised bed.
I realised that one of the sneaky felines was very tidily raking it all flat afterwards.
I've opted for the bits of wire fencing now (on my third lot of seeds) and am optimistic.

never used to have this problem , but since our old dog died we've been inundated and the raised beds are beginning to look like litter trays. I didn't mind poop scooping after the dog had been, but cats are sneaky and smell bad so am scouring freecycle for wire fencing
(the dragon is looking up all the electronic/expensive stuff but seems to be coming up with stuff for people with acres rather than square feet of 'backyard')

My hubby and I have just had a bloody good laugh at this. Sorry, I shouldn't laugh at someone's misfortune, and I feel for you, I really do... but they way it was written was really funny!

We have three cats. They all live indoors, largely because they are too lazy to go outside, but I have to say we are rarely bothered by the neightbours cats... maybe because they can see my cats through the french doors or something? However, best training device for our cats has always been a water spray. Our older two don't even have to be sprayed anymore... they wrinkle up their eyes and flee as soon as the water spray is brough out of hiding! :) The younger one is cockier... and likes water... so we just have to shout at him!!
