We have 6 weekly male shearings round here, youngest screams like every hair has a nerve ending... I too opt out I trust my magenta locks to the hands of my hairdresser!

Male shearing here monthly too. Dh has finally let me do his for the past few months and DS2 reckons I am the only one who can cut it 'right'. Even youngest son had his first shearing last week. Surprisingly calm for a 14 week old baby though trying to keep an even line while holding him in one hand and the clippers in the other was interesting (he was born with MASSES of hair)

ina wrote::( Can't make it this Saturday - I have a hairdresser appointment... Doesn't sound like me, does it! But they are closing down, and this was my last chance. Since they are the only ones who'll cut my hair the way I want it, i.e. short enough so I don't need a comb, and at a reasonable price, I had to take this chance!

In future I suppose it'll be the clippers, and a no.2 job.
Ina take a photo as soon as they have done it front back and both sides, then if you do want to try another hairdresser, you can say, like in the pictures please and if you want to try it yourself, you have a guide picture to try to emulate.

Mine is collar length at the moment as I get fed up with cutting it and I might let it get long and just tie it out of the way but i have cut it short myself using 2 mirrors and lots of contortions. I do DS when he wants it cutting Short back and sides and Ive hacked OH's hair before .DD only lets me cut her fringe, she wants it long enough to sit on(apart from the fringe LOL).

Hope the weather is a bit nicer tomorrow - so... who is going?? I'll wear my SSISH teeshirt but it might be hidden under my coat

I'll happily settle for more rain. We should be there - unless it's really windy I'll be the one in the big hat...

That's not snow BTW - just a very, very hard frost!

We're not going to make it unfortunately. We have been gifted of a load of great planking - however its still in the form of a huge tiled shed which we have to dismantle ourselves by sunday. At least I now know what I'm doing all weekend and luckily the ginger beer is ready for drinking....

Well, we met up with Shirley and family at the dispersal sale, came away with a working Lister and water pump, a harrow, and an alternator, and had the suspension fail on the trailer! It came home on a farm trailer hauled by a nearby farmer's tractor.

Just the latest in a long line of breakdowns - otherwise known as the Stonehead Curse!

Not so good...on the subject of repairs - Am right in thinking you run a gennie up there? How do you weld? This is our main concern about running a gennie - DH does a LOT of welding and he's not sure if it'd be able to cope with that.
