Don't you have any spiders then? Even when my house is clean I still have loads, but that's cos I'm nice and I like them so I cobweb around them and leave them be! We give them names.

I thought I was the only person that cleaned around spiders! I tell people I'm protecting the family form West Nile Virus and malaria by letting the spiders stay.

We have a kind of spider that we call funnel web because they live in cracks in masonry and build circular funnel webs around their hole, like this piccy I found on the web. They only come out at night and usually they just appear at the entrance with 3 or 4 legs sticking out every evening........ ours was named Brian and he lived in the cellar but he seems to have disappeared now. :(

All my spiders have names beginning with B, usually the big long legged ones that scuttle across the floor are called Bennie or Bobby.

Yes I'm probably cracked, but I'm not alone!

I'm with you other spiderlovers and nice to know others love them too
As for the clean house thing, better spend your time doing things you like and to hell with the housework......to a point anyway!
Hope you have a good response to your letter too.

Fab pic MMM funnelwebs are AMAZING arene't they!

Haven't had to do any spider rescues lately but that's a good job as we're up to our necks in it keeping an eye on all the baby birds who have been getting themselves into all sorts of scrapes. Found a lovely little mouse on friday too mid-hike who was nearly passing out from dehydration so we carried him to the shade and gave him a drink and a bit of a sesame snap.

Back on topic for just a minute if I may  to say that the campervan man SAYS he is going to give us £130 squid back (after saying a lot of much less friendly things), so fingers crossed!

Ok, back to spiders

Oh I do hope he means what he says but still think he's a miserable mean bugger after all you went through. It's a pity Tripadvisor doesn't have a 'Campervan Hire' section so you go on there and let everybody know to beware of his outfit.
Hugs and a happy married life to you :hugish: .

Thanks spider8 :hugish:

I'm happy enough if he sends the money through, will pay off our credit card spends on meals out cause of no cool box and ridiculous fuel costs due to terrible set up (and hopefully get us away camping for a bit of a breather yippee)!
Also gives me hope he will think twice before sending a vehicle out in this condition again.

You should have seen some of the stuff he wrote ... at one point he told me not to make a mountain out of medium sized molehill!

Fingers crossed now

Is there anyone higher up the food chain than this man? If so, I would include a copy of the response in a communication with them. It might not get you anything, but fuel leaks in an engine can kill someone. They need to be aware of the problem before there is a serious accident.

Alas this is the owner, who started off making comments such as he wasn't willing to give a further refund as the problems aren't serious (at that point he had refunded £25 for the awning which was ripped, had a cracked pole and the bag was full of fag ends - well not full, but not nice).

He also pointed out that he hadn't intended to charge us for the fuel that we'd 'used' (ie had been peeing all over the road outsied our house for 14 hours before we managed to get him to sort someone to pick it up - he was planning to leave it there a further 48 hours!

I am hoping that I've made him think twice about the importance of vehicle safety and yes, we have pointed out that death is indeed a serious problem but who knows.

I dread the thought of taking him to court as we're still battling with the bank who sent us a letter to say our payment date had been changed, so I changed our direct debit then they didn't change the payment date and charged us for late payment every month until I realised. THen I wrote to them twice and they ignored me (more months of charges) as they wouldn't hange the payment date by phone. ... the late payment charges took us over our limit and so they charged us for that every month too. Aaaaaaaaaaaargh.

Sorry, I'm even going off my own topic now but I do get cross: we have never missed a payment and always pay more than the minimum amount but we keep getting charged! Aaaaaaaaaargh :(

What happened, any updates? I'm so annoyed for you, I just hope the camper van man got what he deserved.

I'm terrible at complaining about things but my OH loves it... he claims that if you complain early, complain often and complain vociferously enough, eventually they will give up and do anything to get rid of you!
