Almost a 1930's gangstar name, what would yours be, Mike the fermenter?

Um following the idea of the Chilli Vodka - Is it just chillies and Vodka? There are some Big Hot green peppers (erős paprika) which would be lethal :)

Yep just chillies and vodka, believe me you don't actually need to use strong chillies.

The strong peppers are quite cheap :)

I think the point Andy's making is that alcohol is superbly efficient at extracting essential oils from plant material - it is, after all, how "essence-of- anything" is made. Using ordinary chillies will give you a "hot, hot, hot" vodka. Using super-hot chillies will give you a nuclear explosion, possibly to the point of the stuff being virtually undrinkable.

EDIT: But this does remind me of a salad I had in Budapest which had some large rings of juicy-looking green pepper scattered through it. Large rings - got to be pepper rather than chilli, yes? They weren't, which I tried to explain to my then wife through streaming eyes and a volcanic throat.

I can confirm just how good the HV is - I went to your recent book signing in Bristol and tried it there - I am sure my voice has now dropped two octaves :drunken:
